CHILD PSYCHIATRY CONSULT LINE

Get support for your pediatric patients.

The Youth Access to Psychiatry Program (YAP-P) is a pediatric mental health access (PMHCA) program offering a provider-to-provider consultation line, clinical trainings and behavioral health resources free of charge to pediatric primary care providers in South Carolina.

Aimed at improving the availability and quality of mental health care for our youth, this collaborative program offers telehealth and phone support to aid providers in the identification and maintenance of youth mental health challenges. Launched as a pilot program in Aiken, Barnwell, Bamberg and Allendale counties in 2023, YAP-P is now available statewide.

“YAP-P had its genesis in an Aiken-Barnwell area face-to-face network formed years ago between pediatricians and child and adolescent psychiatrists to collaborate on our more challenging patients. It was successful, and the model has grown to become YAP-P and encompass the whole state. It’s been so gratifying – truly a worthwhile program that benefits both providers and patients alike.”
